Quickstart - Creating your first auction

Welcome to the Meridian quickstart guide to creating your first auction. Below you will find simple step-by-step instructions for creating a new auction, importing pictures, creating your HTML description, and listing your auction. Begin by clicking the Listing tab to navigate to the listing page.

  • 1. Click the "New" button to create a new auction record.

  • 2. Select eBay or Overstock as the market to list to and fill in auction information.
    Enter a title, category number, and set a time you want the auction to list. The listing schedule times are displayed in your timezone. Clicking the "Select Category1" link will pop up a new window that will allow you to select from a hierarchy of categories. Note that the page will change a bit for different markets.

  • 3. Click the Pictures Button (button #2).

    Press the "Import Pictures" button to bring up a file selection window.

  • 4. Select images to import.



    Browse to the location of your images and select the ones you want to import (select multiple images by holding down the <CTRL> key while selecting images with your mouse). Click the "Open" button when finished, and your images will be uploaded to Meridian.

  • 5. Click the Description Button (button #3).



    Your images and auction title will automatically be merged into your default template. Place your cursor in the desired location in the template and type or paste your description text. Note that you can't paste text by right-clicking the mouse and selecting paste. Either press <CTRL>-V on your keyboard or click the Paste icon in the HTML editor toolbar.

  • 6. Save and List your description.

    If your auction is finished and it's ready to list, click the List button to set your auction to list. The status of your auction will change to "List", and it will post to the selected market according to the listing schedule it was given!
