Creating a description |
|
Step 1: Writing your description |
|
When you first navigate to the editor, you will notice that your default
template along with any images you imported are automatically loaded. You can begin writing
any description text by clicking in the area in the main editor window where you want your
text to go. Note that you can only make changes to the description if the editor is in the
"Design" view or the "HTML" view. Use the formatting toolbar to change the text properties,
add hyperlinks (be aware of eBay's linking policies), add images, and add HTML controls (like
radio buttons, dropdown boxes, etc) as you see fit. If you know HTML, and need a bit more
control over your description layout, hit the "HTML" button to view the document in raw HTML.
After editing the HTML, you can view your changes by switching back to the "Design" view or the
"Preview" view.
|
|
(Optional) Step 2: Loading a template |
|
If you have templates that you created using the template editor,
hit the open button (see figure 2) to bring up the open file dialog. Navigate to your
template, select the file, and open it. Your template will be loaded, and any images you
imported will be merged into the template. Make sure you load the template before you do
any editing, because you will lose your changes. When the template has successfully loaded,
you may then proceed to edit your description as described in Step 1. |

(Optional) Step 3: Reloading the default template |
|
If you get to a point where you need to start from scratch and
reload the default template, you can hit the reload template button (see figure 3). Doing
this will reload the default template and re-merge all your images. However, you will lose all
changes you made to your description, so be sure this is what you want to do first. |

Step 4: Saving your description |
|
When you are done editing your description and are ready to save
it, hit the save button (see figure 4). This will update the status of your auction to
"saved", and it will let Meridian know that your auction is ready to list according to
the listing schedule you set up. If you set the list to be "When Submitted", your auction
will list within a few minutes, so be sure that you are satisfied with you description first.
If your auction is set up to list at a "Bulk Schedule" or a "Specific Schedule", you have until
that time arrives to come back and make changes to your description if needed. Once you have
saved your auction, you may now got back to the listing page (by clicking the listing tab) and
create more auctions, or perform some other task by clicking an appropriate tab. |
