Q: I'm getting little red "X" images when I attempt to upload images. What Can I do to fix this?
A: There is probably a firewall or some security settings that are blocking the image upload process. See this page for a possible fix.

Q: My auction has ended on eBay, why does the auction status in Meridian still say "Listed"?
A: The End Of Auction (EOA) processor runs on a scheduled basis throughout the day. As a result, there might be a delay between the time the item actually ends on eBay or Overstock and the time it shows as ended in Meridian. If your items are still now showing up as edned a couple of hours after they end on the listing market, contact customer support.

Q: My customer has sent me a Paypal payment, why isn't it showing up in Meridian?
A: If you want to have your Paypal payments imported into Meridian, you can download and install the Meridian Payment Processor. The processor will allow you to import your payments any time it is convenient for you. See how to install and run the Payment Processor here. After your Paypal payments have been imported, you can view them on the Payments tab by clicking on the Paypal button.

Q: Why do some of the Paypal payments show a green checkmark icon under the status, and others show an orange clock icon?
A: A green checkmark indicates that the payment has been paid in full by a payer with a confirmed address. The status of the payment is PaidInFull. An orange clock indicates that the payment has a status of Pending. A Paypal payment can have a status of pending for a number of reasons, the most common being that the payer has an unconfirmed address. A payment this is overpaid or underpaid will also be set to pending. It is up to you to decide if you want to accept the payments or not.

Q: How do I set a Pending payment to PaidInFull?
A: If you click on the Payments tab, and then click the Pending button, you can see all of the pending payments in the system. Find the payment you want to set to paid and click the magnifying glass icon to see the details of the payment. Click the "Edit Payment" link near the top of the payment view, find the Status label and set the adjacent drop-down list from Pending to PaidInFull. Finally, click the Save button at the bottom of the payment to save the status. This will send out a Payment Received notice if that setting is enabled, and it will move the item to the Packing list which can be seen on the Shipments tab.

Q: Where can I talk with other members of the Meridian community?
A: There is a Meridian user forum on eBay where you can talk with other users, ask questions, give feedback, and find the latest Meridian news. The forum can be found at:
http://groups.ebay.com/forum.jspa?forumID=4536.
eBay requires you to log in with your eBay username to access the groups.

Q: Are there custom tags to merge my auction information with my template?
A: Yes. There are a number of tags that can be placed in your template that will be merged with the appropriate information when you go to create your description. Below is a list of tags that can be included in your template.  For instructions on how to create a custom template using Meridian's Template functions read our Custom Template tutorial
  • [Header]

This tag will be replaced with your listing title.

  • xxPicturesxx

The images that are imported into the current listing will replace this tag. For those that know Cascading SyleSheets, you can alter the style of the table using the style parameters that are inserted above the pictures table after the auction information has been merged. There is also a class attribute of mertd applied to the <td> element, and a merimg class applied to the <img> element. These classes can be used to apply custom styles to the images or table cells. A common example is adding a border around the images. A one pixel, black, solid border can be applied to the images with a style like this:
    .mertd { border: 1px solid black; }

  • xxSellerIDxx

This tag will be replaced with your eBay or Overstock seller name, depending on which market the auction is set for.

  • xxAuctionIDxx

This tag will be replaced with the AuctionID of the current listing.

  • xxetnoxx

This tag will be replaced with the stock number for the current listing.

  • xxpnxx

This tag will be replaced by a number indicating the number of currently imported images.

  • xxlbsxx

This tag will be replaced with the weight of the listing as specified on the Auction button.

  • xxShippingFeexx, xxIntlShippingFeexx

This tag will be replaced with the shipping fee in dollars if a flat rate was specified as the ship type on the Auction button. If a calculated rate like USPS was selected, the tag will be replaced with a message with the text "Please see shipping calculator or contact seller.".  Use xxShippingFeexx for domestic shipping, and xxIntlShippingFeexx for international shipping.

  • [Image1], [Image2]

These two seperate tags will place the first image and the second image in the specified location in the HTML.

All of the tags are optional, and they can be placed in any order you like, in any location in the HTML. It is recommended that all custom templates at least have the xxPicturesxx tag as it will merge all of the images automatically into the description (a tedious task to do manually).

You can also create a custom template using the HTML editor in Meridian. Click the orange Templates button when you are on the Listing tab to get to the Template Editor. The default template will automatically load. You can then add your own text, change the colors, or add your business logo. Make sure your template still conforms to the rules listed above.

To use your custom template, click the "Custom Templates" button when you are creating your description (while on the Description button). Locate your saved template and open it. Your images and item title should merge into your template. It is important to note that you should have your images imported before saving a description.

If you've created a custom template that you want set as your default template, send a copy of the HTML file to us and we'll copy it into your account for you.

Q: Can I customize my email templates?
A: Your email templates can be customized, but you can't do it directly through Meridian. If you go to the Account tab, and click on the Emails button, you will be able to preview all of the email templates. Simply copy the email template into an HTML editor and make your changes. Make sure you do not remove or rearrange any of the "xx" tags that are in the template or it may not work properly. When you have finished customizing your template, save it as an HTML file and send it to us and We'll copy it over into your account for you.
Q: How do I know what my store category numbers are?
A: You can find the correct ID numbers for your store categories on eBay. Log into your My eBay page, select the "Mange Your Store" link in the "My Subscriptions" section, and select the "Store Builder" link. Do not select the link for "Custom Categories" as they will not show you the correct IDs. On the Store Builder page, there will be a list of your store categories near the bottom of the page, with the proper ID # in parenthesis next to the category name. The page will look something like this:

The ID # is what needs to be selected in the Meridian dropdown list. The number to the left of the store category is the order in which they will show in the dropdown list on eBay, and does not necessarily correspond to the actual category ID#.
We eventually will be providing a way to sync up your store categories with Meridian so that you can select the category name from the dropdown list instead of having to select a number.

Q: If I'm selling on eBay outside of the US, how do I get my listings to reflect this?
A: If you an eBay seller that is selling outside of the US, you can get your eBay listings to show the country you are selling from by entering the 2-digit eBay country code into your address settings in Meridian. Click here to see a list of valid country codes. If you want your listings to show "United States", just leave the address field blank. If you enter your Country's name in your address settings, your listings will probably fail to post to eBay. You can edit your address settings by going to the Account tab and clicking the Account Settings button.
