Assigning Auctions Back To Inventory

The normal process for creating auctions for a consignor is to first create an inventory item for the consignor, and then create the listing from the inventory item. It's these inventory items that tie the auctions to the consignors (see the help document on creating and managing inventory for complete instructions). However, if you forget to create the listing from the inventory item and instead create it directly on the Listing tab, there is still a way to make sure it is linked with the consignor. This document will outline how to create that link.

In order to link the listing back to the consignor, the appropriate inventory items need to exist for that consignor. Create a new one if needed per the instructions on the inventory page. Once you have your inventory created, make sure you are on the Inventory page on the Auctions tab.

Locate the inventory item and make sure it's selected. If it was just created it should already be selected, otherwise locate or search for it in your inventory list and click it to select. Then click the Listings button to the left of the inventory details form.

Click the Add Listings button to bring up the page where you locate the auction(s) you want to link to this inventory item.

Use the search box to find your auction(s) and click the checkbox next to the auctions you want to link. Finally, click the "Assign Auctions" button to complete the link process.

After the auctions are linked, you will be brought back to the inventory page with your inventory item selected. Click the Listings button again and you should see the newly linked listing(s) appear in the list.
